Land Use & Housing Study

During the most recent Plenary Group meetings, staff reviewed, discussed and collected comments on the Draft Neighborhoods Plan.  Presentations and materials from those meetings are now available online:

Currently Underway: Staff is currently reviewing comments submitted to date on the Draft Neighborhoods Plan and collecting feedback from advisory commissions.

Next Steps: A revised Draft Neighborhoods Plan will be prepared and staff will request that the County Board authorize advertisement at its meeting in June 2012, with final consideration and approval scheduled for July 2012.  Upcoming meeting schedule includes:

  • Transportation Commission – May 3 (7:30pm: Courthouse Plaza, County Board Room)
  • Long Range Planning Committee of the Planning Commission – May 23 (8pm-2nd agenda item: Navy League Building, 2300 Wilson Blvd, Lobby Level Conference Room)
  • Historical Affairs and Landmark Review Board (HALRB) – May 30 (7pm: Courthouse Plaza Lobby Level, Cherry/Dogwood Conference Rooms)
  • Housing Commission – June 7 (7pm: Courthouse Plaza, Room 311)
  • Long Range Planning Committee of the Planning Commission – June 13 (7pm: Courthouse Plaza Lobby, Cherry/Dogwood Conference Room)
  • County Board Meeting to Request Advertisement of the Final Neighborhoods Plan – June 16 or 19
  • Transportation Commission – July 5 (7:30pm: Courthouse Plaza County Board Room)
  • Planning Commission – July 9 or 11 (7pm: Courthouse Plaza County Board Room)
  • Housing Commission – July 12 (7pm: Courthouse Plaza, Room 311)
  • County Board Meeting to consider adoption of the Final Neighborhoods Plan – July 21 or 24

The Columbia Pike Neighborhoods Plan identifies policies, tools and initiatives that can guide future growth and investment in the multi-family residential areas of the Pike corridor according to the community’s goals and vision.
